Common questions

Quick answers about marking attendance and running sessions. For anything else, send us a message above.

Why isn't my QR code scanning?

Make sure you're inside the session's active window and camera permission is granted. QR codes rotate every few seconds, so a stale screenshot or paused video won't work. If scanning still fails, ask your lecturer for the current PIN; it verifies the same session.

Bluetooth attendance isn't detecting the session.

Turn on Bluetooth and stay within a few metres of the broadcasting device. Detection can take a few seconds. If nothing happens after about 30 seconds, use QR or PIN instead.

I was told "already marked". Did something go wrong?

No. Once you're marked present for a session, another attempt is recognised as the same session. You're never marked twice, and your original attendance record is unchanged.

What is a delegated attendance session?

A lecturer can authorize a trusted student to start attendance on their behalf. The session runs for 10 minutes, and the authorization can only be used once.

Do lecturers need Bluetooth to run a session?

No. QR and PIN both work without Bluetooth. Bluetooth lets nearby student devices check in automatically, but it is optional.
